A criminal defense lawyer who said he met with Lindsay Lohan over the weekend has declined to take on her case – and cast the starlet as a confused princess-type.
Goldberg said Lohan contacted him after her last lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, resigned without explanation last week in the wake of Lohan’s 90-day jail sentence for violating the terms of her probation.
During a six-hour “heart to heart” at the actresses’ West Hollywood apartment attended by Lohan, her mother Dina and younger sister Ali, the “Mean Girls” star did not “seem to have the awareness of what's going to befall her” but was "genuinely in pain," Goldberg said.
Lohan took notes during their conversation, while Ali asked “astute” questions, he said.
Goldberg said his advice that Lohan move away from Los Angeles, which he described as a “toxic environment,” fell on deaf ears.
"She was like Teflon to that comment," he said. "It just slid right off her. She seemed to have some inner deep sadness that that was her fate."
While Lohan is apparently still in need of legal counsel, she’s received a boost of emotional support lately from her ex-Samantha Ronson.
First, the celebrity DJ took Joan Rivers to task online Saturday after the gossip maven criticized Lohan on Twitter.
Lohan is due to begin serving her jail sentence by July 20.
