Kate: My Kids Are “Acting Out”

Reality mom says drama with Jon is taking its toll on her brood

It's not only Jon and Kate who are suffering through the drama of their public, bitter divorce -- mom Kate said this week her eight kids are "acting out" as a result of the conflict between the warring Gosselins.

Kate Gosselin spilled in a "Vanity Fair" tell-all posted online Monday that her children are struggling through her and Jon's divorce, splashed across the pages of celebrity weeklies and making tabloid headlines virtually every day.

"I'm trying to give them the grace to see, if they're acting out of line, I'm trying to look deeper into why that is," Gosselin said. "Why the kids are acting out. 'Cause it's all interrelated. I mean, they don't see it, but it's all interconnected."

The TLC reality mom said her brood misses dad Jon when he's not around -- the couple is currently sharing custody of the kids.

"They miss him. They say they miss him," Kate said of her children. "I imagine they say the same thing when I'm away," she said.

The cable network that masterminded the Jon and Kate reality phenomenon recently dropped dad Jon from the show and has filed suit against Jon, who has found a new -- and very public -- love with family friend Hailey Glassman, 22. The show has officially been renamed "Kate Plus Eight."

Jon alleged on "Larry King Live" earlier this fall his kids were suffering immensely from the show, a claim Kate brusquely refuted last week on the "Today" show.

Kate also spoke in the "Vanity Fair" piece about her experience co-hosting "The View," saying appearing on TV came naturally to her and was "easy" for her to do.

"To me it's not an issue. I laugh that people are like, 'Oh, that must be so hard.' To me, it's so very easy," Kate said.

The show is currently airing on TLC.
