It didn’t take long for Melissa George to feel right at home as the sexy new intern on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.”

“The first day I was there, the cast gave me a big hug. It was like, ‘Welcome,’” Melissa told Access Hollywood. “I’ve known them for a long time. So it was lovely to feel like I didn’t have to get to know people”

Melissa made her Seattle Grace debut on Thursday as Sadie, a friend from Meredith Grey’s past who happens to show up at her door after landing an intern job at the hospital.

And if Thursday’s episode is any indication, Sadie won’t be a character just lurking in the background.

“She’s nutty,” Melissa laughed. “I love her… She’s a lot of fun. I haven’t stopped laughing since I got there. I’m having the time of my life.”

So while her character is admittedly a bit “nutty” – Sadie is also bisexual.

“Playing on both teams is good,” Melissa joked. “Your choices are bigger.”

Sadie’s introduction to “Grey’s” comes on the heels of another sexuality-based storyline, which saw Sara Ramirez’s character, Dr. Callie Torres, engage in a relationship with Dr. Eric Hahn (played by Brooke Smith).

Brooke, however, was recently dismissed from the show and her last episode aired November 6.

But for Melissa, 32, she couldn’t be happier to be working the rest of TV’s hottest docs.

“They make me laugh all day. It’s ridiculous how funny they are. They love their jobs and they are so talented,” Melissa added. “Everyone just works so hard on the set. It’s like one big family.”

Melissa’s big screen acting credits include “30 Days of Night,” “Turistas,” “Derailed,” “The Amityville Horror.” She also has appeared on several episodes of HBO’s “In Treatment.”
