Ed O'Neill Gets a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

From Al Bundy to Jay Pritchett, actor Ed O'Neill has cemented his status as an iconic TV dad. And now he's being cemented in other ways, too.

The veteran actor received a star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday, in front of an enormous crowd and surrounded by his family and past and current co-stars - including his two most famous TV wives, Katey Sagal and Sophia Vergara.

"I want to tell Eddie, he's one lucky mo-fo," said Sagal, who spent 11 seasons beside O'Neill's cantankerous Al as beehive-haired Peg Bundy on "Married...With Children." "Here he's got these two beautiful women that he's had in his life, hopefully this one as long as he's had me," she added, gesturing toward Vergara. "And I'm sure he will."

"Modern Family" star Vergara described her first "meeting" with O'Neill.

"When I was in Colombia and I was a young, very beautiful girl, I would watch 'Married... With Children,' with Ed with his hand in his pants, talking with this very sexy Antonio Banderas accent—because in Colombia it was dubbed into Spanish," she joked.

"I would never in a million years think that I was going to grow up to marry Al Bundy."

O'Neill's star (the 2,446th star handed out) will be located in front of a shoe store, which is fitting, seeing as his Al Bundy so famously labored in the footwear retail arena.

O'Neill joked that "somewhere in the world, at this moment in a hospital, a little baby girl is being born. And when she grows up she's going to be my next wife on TV, and I look forward to that day" before turning more earnest.

"As I'm standing here, it's a bit emotional," he said. "This is overwhelming. I want to thank the fans for being here. No fans, no show, no career."
