Details Emerge On DJ AM's Last Day Alive

DJ AM, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, sent his final text message to two friends at 1 AM on Friday. His planned DJ gig later that evening at Rain nightclub inside the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas never happened.

Sixteen hours after Goldstein's last text, a friend called 911 because he could not be reached when he was supposed to be boarding a plane to Vegas.

A New York Police Department source told Access Hollywood that authorities broke down his door and found him on his bed in sweatpants, with a crack pipe nearby. They also discovered crack cocaine, and prescription drugs in his apartment.
