Bret Michaels Tells Oprah he Was Ready ‘to Go out Rockin”

Bret Michaels is appearing in his first televised interview since suffering a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage last month, only 20 days after having an emergency appendectomy. The rocker talked to Oprah about his harrowing health scare and why he couldn't part with his trademark look.

"It just exploded instantly – ran from my temple down to the back of my skull," the rocker/reality star said during an appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," slated to air on Wednesday.

Despite his brush with death, the "Rock of Love" star said he never lost his rockstar style, even while recovering in the hospital – especially his bandana.

'Its like Superman without the cape," he told Oprah. "I said, 'If I'm going out, I want to go out rockin'.'"

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Bret is planning to head back out on tour before the end of May and – he hopes – attend the season finale of "The Celebrity Apprentice" later this month.

Bret will make his first concert return on Friday, May 28, in Biloxi, Miss., at the Hard Rock Live.
