Bieber's Security Guard Gets Summons from NYPD

Cops dismiss reports that Bieber was attacked by a fan

A security guard for Justin Bieber was issued a summons on Thursday after a confrontation with police outside an event at Macy's Herald Square.

Bieber was at Macy's for the launch of his new fragrance line.

Police officials say Bieber had wanted to say hello to fans gathered outside the department store.

Police set up a secure area for the teen but as he greeted fans, Bieber apparently went outside the secure area, toward crowds that then began pushing and shoving, sources tell NBC New York.

As police forced the crowd of 400 people back, some broke through the metal barricades, law enforcement officials said.

Police asked Bieber's security staff to pull him back into Macy's. As the security staff was going back inside, one had words with a police officer and was issued a summons, authorities said.

Though some published reports say Bieber was attacked by a fan, police sources told NBC New York that the teen star was never assaulted or injured.
