Faces of Impressionism

Portraits from the Musée d’Orsay

NBC 5 and the Kimbell Art Museum invite you to join us at the Renzo Piano Pavilion for the Faces of Impressionism: Portraits from the Musée d’Orsay exhibit from October 19 through January 25. This spectacular exhibit will include over 70 examples of French paintings and sculptures from the last half of the 19th century.

Faces of Impressionism explores the remarkable variety of approaches to portrait making between 1860 and 1910, the decades that witnessed the birth of Impressionism, its artistic maturity, the challenges issued to it and its eventual influence in the first decade of the 20th century. The exhibition will feature masterworks by the central figures in the Impressionist movement—notably Edgar Degas, Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Camille Pissarro, Berthe Morisot and Claude Monet—as well as renowned paintings by the artists who preceded them, such as Édouard Manet, and those who followed them, including Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh.

Admission to this remarkable exhibition is $18 for adults, $16 for seniors age 60 and over, $16 for students with an ID, $14 for children ages 6 - 11 and free for children under 6 and for Museum members. Admission is half-price on Tuesdays and after 5:00 p.m. on Fridays.

Tickets can be purchased in advance, online or at the visitor services desk in the Piano Pavilion Lobby. Ticket prices include the Acoustiguide Audio Tour. Admission to view the museum’s pertinent collection is always free.
