A few stars were missing from the Oscars red carpet last night, including Jennifer Aniston, Katherine Heigl, Jessica Alba and Kristen Stewart.
That's because they had snuck in the back door.
It was part of the Academy's new effort to have them reveal their Oscar look for the first time when they came onstage to present or with key money shots during the telecast.
Sarah Jessica Parker and Miley Cyrus were some of the stars who refused to skip the red carpet.
Cyrus wanted to show off her Zuhair Murad dress, saying she "didn't just walk into a store and just find this."

Is anyone tuning in to the red carpet show to see what Miley is wearing? She's not up for an Oscar!
I get why they want some folks to skip the carpet, it's sort of a smart move. That and having a more interesting show to watch.
I thought last night's show was better than last year's. They did a nice job of having past winner honor and announce the nominees.
You always hear people say "it's just an honor to be nominated" and when you have a legendary actress pay tribute to a new actress it certainly can feel like an honor. I thought it was a nice touch.
