Jessica Simpson's country career may be over.
CMT and several others are reporting that Simpson is no longer on Sony BMG Nashville's roster of artists.
Simpson was noticeably absent from the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday night because she was reportedly in Cabo.
Simpson's debut country album "Do You Know" debuted at No. 1 but sold less than 200,000 copies.
Simpson's first country single "Come on Over" peaked at 18 on Billboard's country music chart in August. Another single, "Remember That," peaked at 42 in December.
Sony isn't commenting on Simpson's absence from its Web site, but Simpson's spokesperson told CMT: "Jessica is and has always been an Epic artist. She was on loan to Sony Nashville for her country album. She continues to be on Epic's label."
It should be noted that Epic and Columbia are both owned and operated by Sony BMG.

I don't wish bad things on her, but I don't see how this is any different than her pop career.
She didn't have that many hit singles, heck she released "With You" twice.
I think she's destined to be a reality TV personality, because the singing and the acting aren't really getting her anywhere.
