Rangers Give Adams 1-Year Deal

Terms of Adams' deal not disclosed

Texas Rangers RHP Mike Adams will be back with the team in 2012.

The team and pitcher agreed to terms on a one-year deal that was announced Tuesday.

According to the team, "Adams combined to go 5-4 with a 1.47 ERA and 2 saves in a career best 75 games with San Diego and Texas in 2011. He had the fourth lowest ERA and tied for sixth most holds (32) among major league relievers. Acquired by the Rangers from the Padres on July 31, Adams was 2-3, 2.10 with a save in 27 games the rest of the year."

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Four unsigned Rangers remain eligible for salary arbitration: pitcher Matt Harrison, catcher Mike Napoli, infielder Elvis Andrus, and outfielder Nelson Cruz.

The team also hopes to sign Japanese ace Yu Darvish by the deadline -- 4 p.m. Wednesday -- and is in the hunt for free agent first baseman Prince Fielder.
