Yu Set For Cactus Debut

When Yu Darvish toes the rubber today in Arizona as the Texas Rangers face the Chicago White Sox, he'll have some demons to exorcise.

You see, the White Sox tore Darvish up in his lone start against them during his rookie season in 2012, putting up six runs and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings. OK, so maybe I lied, it's a Cactus League game, not August. Darvish doesn't care about that game last year, but he probably would like to have a solid debut after just a so-so one last week in an intrasquad scrimmage in which he wasn't helped by an error from Elvis Andrus.

Despite what you say/think about Matt Harrison, Darvish is unequivocably the Rangers' ace this season and is being relied upon to be a true No. 1 pitcher while Harrison's ceiling is most likely as a very good No. 2.

Darvish will likely have a 30-40 pitch limit today and will go no more than two innings, just like every other pitcher making his spring debut (except for Derek Holland who is ramped up to join Team USA for the WBC next week).
