Who's On, Who's Not?: July 8

In a weekly staple, we'll discuss who's in a groove and who's in a rut for the Texas Rangers.

Who's On?

Delino DeShields — The Rangers' spark plug has been back from the disabled list for two games now, and he's picked up where he left off. The speedy outfielder is hitting .375 in his two games back and he already has a double and a triple since his return. To go with his three hits in his eight at-bats, he's scored three times and added a walk.

Prince Fielder — Fielder isn't hot at the moment by Fielder standards, but he's still batting .304 over his past six games. He has a double, a homer and an RBI to go with two walks.

Sam Freeman — The Hebron graduate has been on a tear recently and appears to have a future in the Rangers' bullpen after a rough start to his Rangers career. The lefty hasn't allowed a run in his last four appearances, spanning 3 2/3 innings. He's allowed two hits and a walk while striking out five in that span.

Who's Off?

Elvis Andrus — He had some well-hit balls on Tuesday night and actually was going to right field, but he's only hitting .100 over his last six games. Yuck.

Adrian Beltre — Since coming off the disabled list, Beltre has been a shell of his former self. He's batting just .130 over his last six games and has no power to show for it. It's getting tough to watch, and the hope is that the all-star break will do some good for his obviously still-injured thumb.
