Sunday a Big Day for Rangers Aces

When Cole Hamels takes the hill at Globe Life Park in Arlington on Sunday at 2:05, it will be a collective sigh of relief for Rangers fans after the team's ace pitcher missed his last start with a groin strain.

Apparently now, he's A-OK.

Two hours after that in Frisco, the Rangers' forgotten ace, Yu Darvish, will be on the hill at Dr Pepper Ballpark looking to start his road back to the big-league mound from Tommy John surgery.

It will be Darvish's first game action since a spring game last March when he threw one inning before needing the elbow surgery and his first regular-season game since August 2014.

He's scheduled to throw two innings or 30 pitches, whichever comes first, against Corpus Christi, so if you want to see him, don't be late.

It'll be an exciting day as we'll see the first step taken to Hamels and Darvish fronting the Rangers' rotation the way they envisioned it when they traded for the controllable Hamels last July when Darvish was just a couple of months removed from surgery.
