Rangers Want to ‘Red Out' Globe Life Park During Key Series Versus Astros

North Texas sports fans are still on cloud nine after the Cowboys' comeback win Sunday. And now, just down the street at Globe Life Park, excitement is about to reach a fever pitch.

"You just gotta be out here," said Chuck Morgan, the Voice of the Texas Rangers. "It just really feels great."

With a victory over the Houston Astros Tuesday night, the Rangers would clinch the Silver Boot and, more importantly, take over first place in the American League West.

With so much at stake, fans got to the ballpark early Tuesday afternoon to make sure they're good to go.

"Yes, I definitely want to have a red shirt on for the game," said Roxanne Brown, a Rangers fan from Dallas who was shopping at the Majestic Grand Slam Shop at the ballpark.

The team is asking fans to help them "red out" Globe Life Park during their four-game series with the Astros this week. They're offering 20-percent discounts on red team apparel, and they're selling select tickets for $10.53 online – anything to pack the stands.

"I think the players – and I've heard this from them over the years – they love to hear the crowd get into the game," said Morgan.

Morgan said he can't remember the last time the Rangers-Astros rivalry was this red-hot. And he thinks fans are in for a big treat Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

"This season, with both of us fighting like we are, it's a pretty special moment," said Morgan.

And for the fans with the postseason in their sights, they're gunning for three more big wins.

"We're pretty excited," said Darrell Weehunk, a Rangers fan from Lubbock. "We'd like to see that."

With October quickly approaching, the Rangers have already rolled out plans for postseason ticket sales.

Non-season ticket holders can register online for the opportunity to buy single-game tickets. The registration period ends at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24. Names will be drawn the following day.

This is the only option for fans to buy tickets at face value directly from the Rangers.

Regardless of selection in the Wild Card or American League Division Series ticket opportunity, all registrants are automatically entered for the chance to buy American League Championship Series or World Series tickets at a later date.
