Rangers Swap with Southwest Airlines Employees at Love Field

For one afternoon, Texas Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland, outfielder Drew Stubbs and pitcher A.J. Griffin traded in their bats and gloves for boarding passes and inflatable vests.

As part of the Rangers partnership with Southwest Airlines, players were given the chance to swap places with Southwest employees at Love Field on Monday afternoon.

"Thankfully the fans out here were patient with us," Moreland said. "It made it a lot of fun for us, too."

As passengers exited the airplane, the jersey-wearing Rangers players were there to greet them with a "Welcome to Dallas" message. Many of the unsuspecting customers stopped to take photos and get autographs.

"It's a lot of work, though, trying to get everything going and piecing together the puzzle," Moreland said. "It's really fun to see how it works."

The Rangers will be back on the field Monday night at Globe Life Park, hosting the Oakland A's at 7:05 p.m.
