Rangers Reveal Spring Schedule, Pricing

Play to begin March 4

The American League Champion Texas Rangers released their spring training schedule Tuesday -- pitchers and catchers report in only 74 days!

Texas will play 34 spring games, including 29 Cactus League contests.  The team will play the Royals at their shared Surprise complex, but will also host the San Diego Padres twice and play the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland A's, and San Francisco Giants once each in Surprise.

At the other Cactus League parks, the team has two games with the Indians and one each with the Diamondbacks, Cubs, White Sox, Reds, Rockies, Angels, Dodgers, Brewers, Padres, Giants, and Mariners.

Texas will play 6:05 p.m. MT games in Surprise with Cincinnati on Monday, March 26 and versus San Francisco on Thursday, March 29. The opener versus Kansas City on Sunday, March 4 is a 12:05 p.m. MT game. All other Rangers games in Surprise will be 1:05 p.m. MT starts.

In addition, the Rangers will participate in the 2012 Big League Weekend in Las Vegas, meeting the Chicago Cubs on Saturday and Sunday, March 17-18 at Cashman Field, the regular season home of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League Las Vegas 51s. The Rangers, who will be the road team for the two games and the Cubs will play a pair of day games with the times to be announced. This is scheduled to be the Rangers' first games ever in Las Vegas. The club was scheduled for a two-game series against Colorado at Cashman Field in March 2004 but both contests were rained out.

Texas will also play Cactus League split squad games in Arizona on those dates, March 17 vs. Arizona in Surprise and March 18 against Milwaukee in Maryvale.

The Rangers will close the 2012 spring training slate with three exhibition games in the state of Texas. The club will play its Triple-A affiliate, the Round Rock Express on Monday, April 2 at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock (6:05 p.m.) and its Double-A affiliate the Frisco RoughRiders on Wednesday, April 4 (2:05 p.m.) at Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco. Texas will also play an exhibition game on Tuesday, April 3 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington with the opponent and time to be announced. The Rangers begin defense of its second consecutive A.L. championship on Friday, April 6 versus the Chicago White Sox at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

2012 individual ticket prices for Texas Rangers games at Surprise Stadium: Lower Dugout--$25.00; Upper Dugout--$22.00; Infield--$19.00; Plaza--$15.00; and Lawn--$7.00. Full season and 7-Game ticket packages are also available as well as group ticket packages. Parking is free to all games at Surprise Stadium.

Prior to the start of the exhibition season, the Rangers will hold workouts at the organization's complex in Surprise. Reporting dates for the Rangers will be announced shortly.
