Rangers Needing to Cool Cabrera

You'd have to think that if Miguel Cabrera was on a team in the AL West, he'd be one of the all-time Rangers nemeses, right up there with guys like Vladimir Guerrero and Kyle Seager.

Cabrera has played 66 games against the Rangers in his career, and he's sporting a career .379 batting average with 12 homers and 66 RBIs with a 1.057 OPS.

He's just recently returned from the disabled list, where he spent more than a month — a big reason for the Tigers falling out of contention enough to strip down and sell off their assets like David Price and Yoenis Cespedes.

But in his five games since returning, Cabrera has already hit a long ball with four RBIs and is batting an even .400 in those 20 at-bats.

The Rangers need to win this four-game series in Detroit to try to gain some ground against Houston, Los Angeles and Baltimore, and containing Cabrera will go a long way toward that goal.
