With a West Coast road trip against AL West foes coming up on the calendar after an off-day on Thursday, the Texas Rangers are in dire need of some positive vibes and momentum.
In the midst of a four-game losing streak, the Rangers hope to be sent out on the road with a win, and there's no one more qualified to deliver that than Rangers ace Yu Darvish.
Darvish has been a master of stopping losing skids and starting win streaks this year, and with trips to Seattle, Oakland and Anaheim coming up, the Rangers need good vibes heading off to play three teams ahead of them in the AL West standings.
Darvish is 6-2 with a 2.36 ERA and the Rangers have won eight of his last 10 starts. The two starts in that span the Rangers lost featured a grand total of zero runs scored by the Rangers. Recently, the Rangers have actually given Darvish a good amount of run support, and he'll hope they can do the same on Wednesday night to send the Rangers on the road on a good note.
