Rangers Enjoy Rare Day Off Before Blue Jays Series

After playing 13 straight days of baseball, the Rangers get a day off.

They're considering it a mini-break. Thanks to Wednesday's afternoon game and Friday's night game, it's 48 hours of no baseball for the Rangers.

"It's nice. It almost feels like a regular work day, I guess. 9-to-5, huh? I've never had one of those, but I imagine that's how it would feel," said Rangers first baseman Prince Fielder.

After the break the Rangers turn their attention to the Toronto Blue Jays, the team that eliminated them from the post season last year.

Globe Life Park will be energized come Friday because this is the only time the Blue Jays come to Arlington this season.

Texas lost three of four to Toronto last week and responded by winning the next two series against Detroit and the Chicago White Sox.

They're winning in a variety of ways, but two-out hitting seems to be where the Rangers are surging. It will be critical in the upcoming series with the Blue Jays.

"That's what we are supposed to do, create situations and capitalize on it. The team has been good at it so far and hopefully that will be the case the whole year," said third baseman Adrian Beltre. "That's big because, not only because you score the run, but I think when you score the run with two outs like that it gives us a little momentum and kind of deflates the other team a little more."

This is one of the most highly anticipated home series of the season and it starts on Friday at 7 p.m.
