Rangers End Winter Meetings With Minor Trade

From the sounds of it, it wasn't for lack of Jon Daniels' trying, but the Texas Rangers didn't make any big moves in Nashville at the MLB Winter Meetings, which ended on Thursday.

But to close the week of movin' and shakin' out, the Rangers did swap minor league pitchers by sending Will Lamb to the White Sox for right-handed starter Myles Jaye.

Lamb, a lefty reliever, split the 2015 season between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock but never cracked the Rangers' bullpen with the additions of Jake Diekman and Sam Dyson, as well as the promotion of Andrew Faulkner.

Jaye is a starter and spent the entire 2015 season at Double-A Birmingham in the White Sox organization. The soon-to-be 24-year-old righty went 12-9 for the Barons and posted a 3.29 ERA.

Neither player was protected on the 40-man roster for their respective teams, but both were passed up in the Rule 5 draft prior to the trade.
