Rangers Drawing Two Tough Pitchers

When the Texas Rangers head to Safeco Field on Friday to start a three-game series with the Mariners, who the Rangers are 5-1 against this season, they'll be gunning to win that series opener.

That's because Saturday and Sunday are far from easy matchups with the Mariners, as King Felix takes the hill Saturday night against Derek Holland and Hisashi Iwakuma takes on Nick Tepesch in Sunday's series finale.

Hernandez (2.07 ERA) and Iwakuma (2.37) are two of the top pitchers in the game this season but both are coming off their worst starts of the season in their previous outing, giving up a combined 11 earned runs in 11 innings of work.

In four career starts against the Rangers, Iwakuma is 2-2 with a 4.33 ERA, while Hernandez is 12-17 with a 3.77 ERA against Texas over his career and lost his last outing against the Rangers earlier this season.

While the Rangers have had pretty good success against both, they're both bound to have good bounce-back outings this weekend after their poor starts earlier this week. So yeah, Joe Saunders, the Rangers are gunning for you on Friday.
