Rangers Barely Crack Top Half of 2016 Rankings

With the World Series coming to an end earlier this week with the Kansas City Royals beating the New York Mets in five games, all of the postseason (and pre-2016 season) talk has begun this week.

While it's really way too early to talk about next season, especially since free agency has yet to begin, it's fun to try to do, and ESPN blogger Dave Schoenfield has come out with his "way-too-early 2016 power rankings".

Schoenfield doesn't have quite the love for the 2016 Texas Rangers that the people in Las Vegas do, as he's placing the Rangers at No. 13 in baseball, just behind the Washington Nationals and No. 11 Houston Astros.

Here's what Schoenfield had to say about the Rangers' chances in 2016:

Assuming Yu Darvish returns from Tommy John surgery to run alongside Cole Hamels in the rotation, the Rangers may be favorites to win the AL West again. I love Rougned Odor and Adrian Beltre is becoming an ageless wonder (and future Hall of Famer).

So, he presented no real reason for the Rangers to barely be middle-of-the-road in baseball, just a few "ifs" that the Rangers will have to answer.
