Rangers Ballpark Destruction and Construction

While the Texas Rangers might have a work do to get to a third consecutive World Series, it appears they are already working to rebuild parts of Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The team is not confirming anything specific in regards to construction plans, but Chopper 5 showed destruction in Vandergriff Plaza on Tuesday afternoon.

The plaza extends from just past the grassy hill, known as the batter's eye, in center field to the gift shop and once included a wiffleball park and other family-friendly activities.

The team is planning an $11 million dollar renovation that could include a new concession pavilion, sports bar, family entertainment as well as a makeover of the visitor's bullpen according to the Star-Telegram.

The Texas Rangers won't talk about the destruction or construction clearly happening at the Ballpark, but they said more information will come once design plans are finalized.  They hinted a formal announcement may come as early as late this week.
