Target: Shin-Soo Choo, OF
Type of move: Trade
2012 stats: After spending much of 2011 on the disabled list, Choo was healthy in 2012 and had a decent year, though it failed to live up to his previous seasons as one of the better hitting outfielders in baseball. Playing for a terrible Cleveland Indians team, Choo hit .283 with a .373 on-base percentage with 43 doubles, 16 home runs and 67 RBIs.
Choo has been a potential trade target for the Rangers now for a few years. He'll be a free agent following the 2013 season so you'd only have him under control for one year. He's had seasons in the past where he's been one of the league's top hitters though, so he'd be a guy that you could maybe invest in cheaply for a season and see if he can have a rebound year. He'd also give the Rangers a left-handed bat that they covet with a big lack of lefties in the lineup.
