Potential Targets: Michael Morse

Target: Michael Morse, 1B/OF

Type of move: Trade

2012 stats: .291 batting average, .321 on-base percentage, .470 slugging percentage, 18 home runs, 62 RBIs.

Morse took a step back from his 2011 season, when he hit 31 homers and drove in 95 runs for Washington, but he only played 102 games in 2012 compared to a career-high 146 games in 2011. Morse has defensive versatility and can play at first base or in the corner outfield spots. He even played shortstop early in his career in Seattle as well as some third baseman. Now that the Rangers signed Lance Berkman they probably won't be in the market to trade for Morse, especially when there is still talk out there that the Rangers are still looking to acquire Justin Upton.
