Target: Joakim Soria, RHP
Type of move: Free agency
2011 stats: 4.03 ERA in 60 1/3 innings pitched, 60 strikeouts, 17 walks (didn't pitch in 2012)
Pay no mind to "The Mexicutioner" and his 2011 stats after some arm trouble gave him fits in 2011. Look back to the previous years to see what the Rangers would be getting in the 28-year-old. In 2010, Soria had 43 saves for the Kansas City Royals with a 1.78 ERA and two years before that he had 42 saves and a 1.60 ERA.
Soria would provide instant relief for the Rangers losing Ogando to the rotation and potentially losing Mike Adams and Koji Uehara to free agency, specifially Adams who is less likely to return than Uehara. True, he's coming off an arm surgery but so was Joe Nathan and that turned out pretty well for the Rangers.
