Potential Target: Michael Morse

In an ongoing series, we'll take a look at possible free-agent and trade targets for the Texas Rangers this winter.

Target: Michael Morse, 1B/OF/DH

2014 stats: .279 batting average, .336 on-base percentage, .811 OPS, 16 home runs, 61 RBIs, 131 games

Noted insider Bob Nightengale of USA Today has suggest Morse has become a Rangers' target after their primary corner outfield target Torii Hunter went back to where his career began by signing a one-year deal with the Minnesota Twins.

Morse, of course, has winning pedigree after helping the Giants to yet another World Series title in October, and he would give the Rangers another big bat for the middle of their lineup as a left fielder and also could split time at DH with Mitch Moreland. He also played 43 games at first base for the Giants in 2014.

Morse will have just turned 33 when the season begins and you'd have to think he'd want at least a three-year deal coming off a pretty nice season with the Giants.
