On the Move: Yu Darvish

The Texas Rangers are certainly in no position to be buyers come the July 31 trade deadline, but the question is to what degree they will be sellers?

On the move: Yu Darvish, RHP

2014 stats: 8-5, 2.97 ERA, 115 1/3 innings, 142 strikeouts, 39 walks

Reasons to move: Can't really think of one other than a package in return the likes of the Mark Teixeira package in 2008 plus some. That package, of course, brought the Rangers Elvis Andrus, Matt Harrison, Neftali Feliz, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and more. If there's anyone on the Rangers' roster that would bring back a monumental package, it's Darvish. With that said...

Reasons to keep: Every reason possible? Darvish is one of the best five starters in baseball, he's in his prime and has electrifying stuff. Other than a four-month run with Cliff Lee, he's the only legitimate ace in the prime of his career the Rangers have ever had. Those don't grow on trees, and you certainly don't trade them. But if you want to shake things up and make a splash, that'd be the way to go.

Final verdict: No way this happens, not unless Jon Daniels wants to blow this whole thing up and really feel the wrath of the Rangers fans.
