On Deck: Mets at Dodgers, Game 5

On Deck will be here all season to provide you with everything you need to know (and a few things you don't) about every postseason series during the 2015 season.

The Teams: Clayton Kershaw came through in the postseason for the first time and sent this series back to Los Angeles, and now we get a superb pitching matchup in a winner-take-all Game 5.

Past 2015 Meetings: The Mets won the regular season series 4-3 and they've split the first four games of the NLDS.

Pitching Matchups: Thursday — Jacob deGrom (14-8, 2.54 ERA) vs. Zack Greinke (19-3, 1.66).

What's Hot: Veteran outfielder Curtis Granderson has been on fire in this series, as he's 6-for-14 with two doubles and a team-high five RBIs over the first four games. He's joined by Yoenis Cespedes, who is 5-for-16 with two homers and four RBIs in the same time. Mets starter Jacob deGrom was fantastic in his Game 1 start, firing seven scoreless innings with 13 strikeouts and one walk.

Dodgers third baseman/Leprechaun Justin Turner is batting .467 (7-for-15) with four doubles and three RBIs. Second baseman Howie Kendrick is 6-for-17 in the series with a double, a homer and four RBIs to go with his four runs scored. Adrian Gonzalez is hitting .313 in the series with a homer and a team-high five RBIs in the series. Zack Greinke allowed two runs in seven innings and fanned eight in his Game 2 win. Lights-out closer Kenley Jansen has two saves in the series and hasn't allowed a hit.

What's Not: Other than their closer, the rest of the Mets' bullpen is struggling in this series, meaning they'll need another outing similar to his Game 1 gem from deGrom. David Wright is 1-for-12 in his four games, and Lucas Duda is 2-for-15 in the same amount of time.
