Moreland, Profar On Schedule For Spring

Mitch Moreland and Jurickson Profar were two of the many guys the Texas Rangers were counting on in 2014 to miss significant time due to injury with Profar missing the entire season in a year he was supposed to take over at second base for the departed Ian Kinsler.

Moreland played in just 52 games and hit just two home runs before needing season-ending ankle surgery, and Profar dealt with a shoulder injury to his throwing arm that twice had him shut down on rehab assignments before he was eventually ruled out for the season.

Rangers physician Dr. Keith Meister said Moreland will be able to begin a running program immediately after seeing his MRI and Profar should be able to begin throwing in January, and that both players will be ready for spring training with no restrictions.
