CJ Wilson had a little fun with former Rangers’ teammate Mike Napoli over the weekend, apparently in response to an interview Napoli did around a month ago, in which he said he would try to take Wilson deep when the two teams meet.
On Saturday, Wilson issued a Tweet asking Napoli to call him and providing “his” phone number. Only it wasn’t his number--it was that of Napoli, and as you might expect, Napoli soon received a flood of text messages an calls.
Wilson then deleted the Tweet, replacing it with (sic), “Okay I think we've all had a good time, I'm even with mike for saying he can't wait to hit homers off me.”
Wilson went on to say that since Napoli makes $10 million a year (Napoli actually makes $9.4 million a year), he should have no problem getting a new cell phone number.
As for the Rangers’ first opportunity to face their former teammate, Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News points out today that if the Angels’ rotation stays on track this week, Napoli and Texas will have their first crack at Wilson on Sunday in Tempe.
