Lincecum Could be Trade Target

C.J. Wilson didn't do much in the postseason to prove that he can be counted on as a "true ace".

With that being said, don't be at all surprised if Wilson is back in a Rangers uniform next season as the No. 1 pitcher.

There just aren't many better options out there.

The Rangers will without a doubt be in the running for Japanese superstar Yu Darvish, but what if they don't land him or don't even bid enough for the right to negotiate with him?

With CC Sabathia somewhat unexpectedly re-upping with the New York Yankees without even testing free agency, C.J. Wilson is the top free-agent pitcher out there.

That leaves the only possibility of upgrading at the No. 1 pitcher spot as acting in the trade market, and Jon Morosi of Fox Sports made an interesting suggestion on the Ben and Skin Show this week when he said the San Francisco Giants might be shopping Tim Lincecum in return for some offensive upgrades, which the Giants have long been in sore need of.

Lincecum is obviously familiar to Rangers fans after shutting them down in the 2010 World Series, and had another great season in 2011 despite his 13-14 record.

Lionel Messi out of Argentina's March friendlies in the US due to injury

He posted a 2.74 ERA with 220 strikeouts and would without a doubt give the Rangers that reliable, go-to guy at the front end of the rotation.

What would Rangers fans think about a Nelson Cruz and prospects trade to the Giants? Sounds good to me.
