Texas Rangers/MLB Fan Cave
Texas Rangers pitchers Derek Holland and Justin Grimm, from their audition tape.
We've all known for years that Derek Holland is a goofy guy. Sometimes, he makes us laugh and sometimes he makes us crazy with his goofball antics during the season.
One of those moments was this past summer when he had an off-day in Manhattan and stopped by the MLB Fan Cave and filmed a bit with former Rangers pitcher Justin Grimm renacting a famous scene from Dumb and Dumber, wielding a cane and orange tux, and all. It went viral on the Internet and can be seen here.
Now, Holland will fulfill his lifelong dream by making an appearance in the newest Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels movie, Dumb and Dumber To, after stopping by the filming.
"I was just going out there to have fun," Holland told 105.3 FM The Fan. "And next thing I know, they were like, 'We're going to actually put you in the movie and you're going to be in the opening scene. As far as the day went, it was unbelievable, out and about with Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, having an unbelievable time. ... I don't really want to say too much except for keep your expectations high cause this movie is seriously going to be funny."
Holland tweeted about the experience by first retweeting the Farrelly Broth

He then sent a tweet of his own, standing alongside Dumb and Dumber star Jim Carrey.

For the record, the movie should be great. The original is one of the all-time great comedies. There was a poor prequel back in 2003 without Carrey and Daniels, but now they're back and the franchise should be, To.
