Holland Starring In Texting/Driving PSAs

Derek Holland has long been known as the goofy guy on the Texas Rangers — the one that does interviews in the middle of World Series games as Arnold Schwarzenegger or former Cubs announcer Harry Caray and takes heat for it. The one that dresses in Dumb and Dumber tuxedos and walks around the streets of Manhattan. You know, that guy.

Holland has also put together a rather fine season this year and has arguably been the club's most consistent starting pitcher, posting a 9-6 record and a 3.02 ERA with just 11 home runs allowed after giving up 32 last year in a DL-riddled season.

Now, he's putting some his personality to good use as he's been doing some public service announcements and Verizon commercials speaking out on the dangers of texting and driving.

Check them out, and put that phone away while you're driving. Otherwise, Holland will do bad impressions in your dreams.
