Harrison Looking To Stay Hot As Rangers Go For The Sweep

Texas will give the ball to the streaking Matt Harrison in the series finale with the Rays on Wednesday night

Texas starter Matt Harrison has seen his ERA drop in each of his last three starts, a trend that he hopes will continue on Wednesday night in Arlington, as he toes the rubber for the Rangers as they go for a three-game sweep of the always-dangerous Tampa Bay Rays.

Following an 8-inning gem against the Twins his last time out, in which he allowed no runs, Harrison’s record on the season stands at 15-7. His ERA is 3.04. Facing a tough Rays team and (more indirectly) a strong young starter coming off a complete game shutout in Alex Cobb, Harrison isn’t looking at an easy road to a 16th win.

Then again, Harrison is well aware of this.

"We've faced them the last two years in the playoffs, so it's nothing new," Harrison told the Rangers’ official website. "We've got this series and another next week in [St. Petersburg]. It's a potential playoff matchup, but we got some confidence beating [David] Price on Monday, and hopefully that will carry over."
