As the Texas Rangers go off to The Bronx next week to face the hated New York Yankees in a Tuesday-Thursday three-game series, Josh Hamilton will likely do a lot for the Rangers on the field.

But he'll be doing a lot more for his image and popularity on Thursday night when he appears on the Late Show with David Letterman on CBS for the first time.

It's actually quite surprising he's never been on the show given his well publicized past and story of redemption, but now he'll get his chance.

The rumor is he'll do a hitting demonstration with Letterman on 53rd Street to add to the list of crazy sporting things Letterman has had famous athletes do on his show.
