Hamels Streak Continuing Will Give Rangers Huge Edge

In his biggest start to date for the Texas Rangers, Cole Hamels tossed a complete-game to give the Rangers the AL West title and didn't allow a hit after the second inning.

In his next start, which comes on Friday in Game 2 of the ALDS against the World Series favorites, Hamels will have a chance to add to his lore and continue a pretty impressive streak.

The Rangers have won Hamels' last 10 starts after losing his first two with the team, and if they can make it 11 on Friday, this series is pretty much over.

Three games to win one — that's what the Rangers would have if they can pull out Game 2 with Hamels on the mound. It's true, the Blue Jays crush left-handed pitching, but Hamels isn't just any left-hander, and his change-up has been working well lately.

Friday is why the Rangers brought in Hamels. You thought that was Sunday, and it was. But Friday is the real deal. It's time for the Rangers to put their foot on the throat of Toronto, and Hamels is just the guy to do that.
