Game 4 Begins After Rain Delay

Game 4 of the ALCS between the Texas Rangers and Detroit Tigers was delayed because of rain, and Justin Verlander isn't even pitching.

The game was scheduled to start at 3:19 p.m., but was delayed shortly before 3 p.m.

Rain fell in Detroit, the site of Game 4, for several hours leading up to the scheduled start of the game Wednesday afternoon.

Texas is putting LHP Matt Harrison on the mound against RHP Rick Porcello. Harrison was pretty good in the ALDS, where he struck out 9 batters and held the Rays to 2 runs in 5.2 innings pitched in Texas' 4-3 Game 4 win.

Game 1 was delayed twice in Arlington before the Rangers came away with 3-2 win.

Texas leads the best-of-seven series 2-1.
