Fielder Collects Two Hits as Rangers Wait

Prince Fielder hasn't been near the player he was for much of the season since the all-star break ended. He's, for the most part, been hitting pretty well, but he hasn't been making the hits count for much and has basically been a singles hitter โ€”  not what you want from a No. 3 hitter who can hit baseballs really far when he's on.

Fielder is riding a pretty significant โ€” not good โ€” streak over the last month or so. In his last 25 games he has six extra-base hits โ€” four doubles and two homers. He doesn't have an extra-base hit in his last 12 games, racking up 11 singles in that time.

That streak continued on Sunday, but Fielder did collect two hits for his first multi-hit game since Aug. 17.

It's not exactly the heating up that the Rangers want to see yet, but hopefully it's a sign of that coming as the Rangers hit the homestretch beginning with a 10-game road trip that starts on Monday night in San Diego.
