Elem. Students Hold Rangers Spirit Rally

The Texas Rangers will take part in a Playoff Spirit Rally Tuesday at Larson Elementary School at 1:25 p.m.

Approximately 130 fifth-grade students and faculty from Larson Elementary will gather outside the school on an adjoining field Tuesday afternoon to cheer for their favorite Rangers players and wish the team good luck in the American League Divisional Series, and beyond.

Unfortunately, the Rangers won't be there.  Instead they'll be gearing up for the second of a three-game series with the Angels in Anaheim, Calif.

The rally will celebrate the Texas Rangers second consecutive American League West Division Title and the start of the postseason -- which begins on Friday.

The rally is being held in conjunction with the start of the Medical Center of Arlington Texas Rangers Fitness All-Stars Program for fifth-grade students in the Arlington Independent School District.

In addition to showing support for the Texas Rangers and the start of the postseason, students will also participate in an interactive physical portion of the rally.

Members of the Arlington Fire Department and Medical Center of Arlington representatives will help lead the students in a variety of activities and lessons to encourage physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
