Cruz Annihilates Rangers Pitching

In the 171 games Nelson Cruz has played since leaving the Texas Rangers, he has hit 48 home runs.

He led the majors with 40 home runs last year, and last week he hit six homers in five games before the streak was broken Friday night against the Rangers, his longtime team before leaving for Baltimore in 2014.

Then on Sunday, Cruz blew up on his former squad and gave Rangers fans a glimpse of what it might be like having him in the division now, meaning he'll play the Rangers 19 times a year. He hit homers in the first and third innings against Ross Detwiler, and then he had the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning off of Neftali Feliz.

Cruz is just a flat-out monster, and you need to accept that if you haven't already. It's obviously a case of hindsight being 20/20 now, but it's hard to stomach the fact the Rangers let Cruz walk only to see him go on and lead the league in homers last year and now torment them for the first of many times in 2015.
