Changes to Globe Life Park on the Way? MLB Suggests Extended Netting for Increased Fan Safety

    Major League Baseball wants to increase fan safety at games next year, meaning an potential increase in netting is coming to Globe Life Park.

    A release Wednesday from the Office of the Commissioner recommends several safety improvements, including the option of extending protective netting from homeplate toward the beginning of team dugouts to protect fans from line-drive foul balls.

While the protective netting that is currently in place at Globe Life Park in Arlington meets the recommendations that were announced today by Major League Baseball, the Rangers are continuing to explore further options in this very important area of our fan experience."
