Blood Drive Today at Ballpark from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For the second straight year, the Texas Rangers Baseball Club is taking part in World Blood Donor Day.

The blood drive begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. at the Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame.

Participants will have the unique opportunity to participate in being part of a photograph of a "human blood drop" in the stands of the ballpark.  To take part in the photograph, participants must arrive at 11 a.m. at the "All You Can Eat" entrance.  Only the first 200 arrivals will be needed for the photo, which will be taken at 11:45 a.m.

The photograph will be publicized on social media and other blood-banking publications.

Potential donors must be at least 17-years-old, or 16-years-old with a parent's consent, and must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health.  A photo identification card is required.

If you can't make it out today, but still want to donate blood, Carter BloodCare is offering a online-only ticket offer for 50 percent off select seating for donors.  Donors will also be entered to win tickets to a suite.

World Blood Donor Day, which is in its 10th year, is a worldwide effort to raise awareness about the need for blood donation and to inspire action.
