Andrus Missing Time With Tattoo Soreness

In what has to be the first case of this reason for missing an MLB game, Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus is scratched from the lineup for today's Cactus League game against the Cleveland Indians with sensitivity resulting from a new tattoo on his bicep.

It's kind of funny. It's a little infuriating, but most of all it's a non-issue, really, once you get past the fact that a guy is basically skipping out on work because he's sore from a new tattoo. I tried to get out of writing this blog post after getting a wedding band tattooed on my finger, but my boss told me I had to write it anyway. Oh well.

Andrus, who went through the full workout Thursday, according to Rangers media relations sensei John Blake, before being scratched from playing, will play the next two days for the Rangers and then take off to play for Team Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic.

So basically, no harm, no foul in late February, but couldn't Elvis have gotten his tattoo in like January sometime instead of now?

OK, now we all forgive you. Good luck with your rehab.
