AA Holds 1-Day Fare Sale for Yu

Thanks Yu!

Does the signing of Japanese pitching ace Yu Darvish fill you with an an unbelievable desire to travel to the Far East?

If so, American Airlines wants to help you get there and has thought of a promotion they hope will take some of the sting out of the ticket price.

First, they'll sell you a coach ticket on a nonstop roundtrip flight from Dallas to Tokyo's Narita airport for $1,134.  How'd they come that number?  Darvish will wear number 11 and team legend, president, CEO and meat peddler Nolan Ryan sported number 34 back in the day.

Wanna fly in business class?  Just reverse those numbers, no not $4,311, and you'll have a price of $3,411 for your roundtrip flight.

It's not a bad deal. A quick search had the economy seat on a non-stop flight costing travelers about $100 more while the business fare was substantially cheaper than the $7,400 list price.

To take advantage of this deal travel must take place between Feb. 1 and March 31 of this year and you must stay in Tokyo at least three nights.  You'll need more than that since it'll take you a couple of days to get accustomed to the time change after the 14-hour flight.

Anyhow, tickets must be purchased before midnight Friday -- that's right it's a one-day sale.  So, act quickly.
