“Money Never Sleeps” Will Rest a Little Longer

We've seen the great trailers. We've read the Vanity Fair cover story on Michael Douglas. We're as ready as we can be to find out what happens to Gordon Gekko after he gets out of prison and tries to reconnect with his daughter.

Now Fox has moved the release date for the "Wall Street" sequel "Money Never Sleeps" from an April release date to September, according to Variety.com. That hurts. It's like waving a fresh pizza under someone's nose and then telling them they'll get a slice in four hours.

Fox isn't saying why, but Variety speculates it's due to an invite from the Cannes Film Festival which is in May, which would provide a prestigious international platform for Oliver Stone's film -- which also stars Shia LaBeouf, Carey Mulligan and Josh Brolin.

After the May festival, the studio has hinted the film is better suited for fall than summer.
