Welcome to Watch List, where we identify five things on TV to watch while you stay at home and change your closets to spring and summer clothing. Say good night, bulky North Face vest! Time for hibernation. LET’S GO!
SOUTH PARK – 10:00PM (Comedy Central)
It’s the boys’ 200th episode, and let us now look back at the remarkable run this series has had. 200 episodes. 13 years(!). Any number of television barriers broken, including the s-bomb, talking feces, orally powered gyrocycles, and so much more. It’s a rare series that seems to grow stronger each year, and it’s aged far better than “The Simpsons” has. It’s an institution, and it all started with some five-minute animated holiday card. Unbelievable. Hats off to Mr. Stone and Mr. Parker. Tonight, ridiculed celebrities sue the town of South Park. Something tells me this will backfire on them. ANTICIPATION: STILL GOING STRONG!
UGLY BETTY – 10:01PM (ABC)
It’s the final episode of “Ugly Betty,” forever and ever. Sorry, you Bettyphiles. And it starts at 10:01PM. Come on, ABC. You’re already canceling the poor show. Did you really have to shave off that minute? That’s one less minute I get to watch! You’ve shortchanged me! I’ll never forgive you, child! (snaps fingers, walks away). ANTICIPATION: UGLY ENDING
AMERICAN IDOL – 8:00PM (FOX)
Adam Lambert and his spiky jock strap perform, followed by one of the contestants getting the boot. And after watching Lambert perform, it’s a good bet you’ll want them ALL booted. ANTICIPATION: GLAM!
650-LB. VIRGIN – 8:00PM (TLC)
Note to TLC: If the guy is 650 pounds, I already know he’s a virgin. Call it intuition. Now “650-Lb. Lothario”? That would surprise me. I hope there’s no chest waxing scene tonight. ANTICIPATION: BIG LOVE!
TOP CHEF MASTERS – 10:00PM (Bravo – an NBC/Universal network)
Tonight the chefs prepare dinner for a celebrity’s birthday party. This is why I need to be a celebrity. Natalie Portman will not appreciate that lamb carpaccio as I would. ANTICIPATION: MMMMMM
