Teen Starlet Miranda Cosgrove's Not-So-“Despicable” Thanksgiving

Tween queen Miranda Cosgrove already has plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

The 17-year-old star of Nickelodeon’s hit "iCarly" who voiced the orphan elder spokesgirl Margo in the popular animated feature "Despicable Me" will be celebrating the holiday at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York with a float-full of the film’s beloved little yellow hench-things known as Minions.

“I'm going to have a bunch of people in Minion costumes with me!” Cosgrove told PopcornBiz.

Cosgrove gushed over the movie's signature Minions and said she can understand the fan fascination with the little creatures.

"I think they're adorable," she said. "I have a Minion stuffed animal that one of the producers gave me on my bed. I just think that they're pretty much the cutest things in the entire world!"

The teen starlet said working on an animated feature meant that she had little idea of what the final product would look like. She was pleased by what she was saw -- and hopes to sign on to a sequel.

“I think I might be in 'Despicable Me 2',” she said. “I'd love to be a part of it, and I'm sure that the character will be a little bit older. That'll be fun, to have a character that grows a little bit.”

The film grossed half-a-billion at the box office and is poised to earn even more with home video release set for Dec. 14 in time for the holidays.

After attending the parade today in New York, Cosgrove said she'll spend Thanksgiving with a friend's family before heading back to L.A. to have a dinner with her own family.

“Every year at Thanksgiving my mom makes Cornish game hens,” she said. “I just love Thanksgiving because it's her big cooking day and I love her food. Also because I have my whole family over and it's just nice to have everybody there. ... So it's just a big fun day. Everyone loves Thanksgiving!”
