Greta Gerwig to Star Opposite Russell Brand in “Arthur” Remake

Russell Brand has found his Liza.

Greta Gerwig is the last of the principals for the upcoming remake of "Arthur," reported Deadline Holywood, taking the part originally played by Liza Minelli, Brand in the title role made famous by Dudley Moore, and Dame Helen Mirren standing in for Sir John Gielgud.

After years of starring in mumblecore films, Gerwig was introduced to a (marginally) wider audience as Ben Stiller's love interest in "Greenberg," earning rave reviews.

Despite any number folks being up in arms about this project, it they've put together a nice cast and landed Jason Winer ("Modern Family") to direct.

Watch the trailer for the original and ask yourself if this is really such hallowed ground.
